In the rise of vertical watching via reels, YouTube shorts, and TikToks, and people consuming most of their contents on smartphones, Cignal Play, a sister company of TV5, becomes the first major production house to create and stream vertical dramas.
With the launch of Cignal Play Microdramas, the Cignal Play app now hosts 12 to 15-minutes worth of original titles, being portrayed by mainstream actors, and created for viewers by some of the best writers and directors of today.
This was enhanced with the fact that only around 30% of mobile users do rotate their phones even if content is horizontal and landscape. People would most likely just go to the next available content instead of changing their phone’s orientation, says Google.
Cignal Play made itself be involved quickly to this content race, being ahead also in the deluge of vertical content that is crowding our Facebook and Instagram feed.
The bite-sized productions include the romance feature “Baker’s Heart” starring Queenay and Paulo Angeles, comedy queer short film “3 Queens and a Baby” starring Christian Bables, TJ Valderrama, Iyah Mina, Daniela Stranner, Donna Carissa and Christian Vasquez, and the sexy drama “I See You” starring Dimples Romana, Joey Vascon, Cedrick Juan and Zion Cruz.
Completing the first batch of vertical dramas on the Cignal Play app are “My Father’s Last Wish” starring Johnny Revilla, Gerald Madrid, Alex Medina, Dawn Chang and Dylan Menor, and another romance feature “A Cure Called Love” which also stars Dylan Menor and Micah Santos.
The first five shows can now be watched for free with the succeeding features available for P20 a day. Downloading the Cignal Play app is also free.
