TV5 is set to air a TV adaptation of the critically-acclaimed indie comedy film "Ang Turkey Man Ay Pabo Rin". Also with Tuesday Vargas, the comedy series "Kano Luvs Pinay" will premiere on September 5, 9PM.
If you're missing the heydays of nightly comedy shows, TV5 is trying to bring it back one quality program at a time. You can't consider "Kano Luvs Pinay" as a sitcom though. It's treatment is more sophisticated compared to what we commonly see on national TV. It is produced by Unitel so you can set your expectations high.
Tuesday, who plays Cookie, is joined here by Pokwang's real-life boyfriend Lee O'Brien. The story is about a Filipina who found a foreign partner. O' Briend's character is an American who has a job assignment in Manila. The basics of the story is about the stereotypes given to Filipinas married to Americans and how Vargas's character breaks away from these.
For more comedy, Wilma Doesn't and Kiki Baento joins the cast as Vargas's bestfriends. Other cast include Cookie's son played by Chok Chok Venida, her brother portrayed by Martin Escudero, and her parents Boboy Garovillo and Ces Quesada.
We were invited to watch the first five episodes of the show and we guarantee quality entertainment for you. "Kano Luvs Pinay" is certainly a comedy series that you won't find anywhere else in national TV as of the moment. Catch it beginning September 5.
