It's Showtime's Pastillas Girl got considerable public attention especially on social media this week but is still not enough to topple Eat Bulaga's AlDub when it comes to audience share.
On Thursday, September 17, Miss Pastillas met her third suitor Evan Bergogna (@evanshame on Twitter) to the delight of the crowd.
Over at KalyeSerye, Yaya Dub and Alden played a matching game. They won which got Lola Nidora's approval for their first date on Saturday.
Eat Bulaga dominated all 5 of the 30-minute gaps of the two shows. It was close in the first hour, 8.6 vs 5.5 and 9.2 vs 5.6 in favor of Eat Bulaga but the lead doubled when the KalyeSerye segment began. The segment lasted for almost 40 minutes on Thursday which pushed Eat Bulaga to total domination over It's Showtime, 13.6 over 6.5 and 13.5 over 6.1.
On a separate report by the AGB, Eat Bulaga totaled 27.8% audience share that day, way ahead of It's Showtime's 16%.
However, the 11.8% difference that separates both shows is an improvement for It's Showtime which was behind by as much as 30% in the past 8 weeks.
Since the Pastillas Girl reality love segment on It's Showtime began, ABS-CBN's noontime offering has been slowly climbing in terms of ratings. On Monday, September 14, Kantar reported that Eat Bulaga dominated the 12 noon block in a small margin, 20% vs 14.1%. The lead even narrowed on Tuesday, September 15 with Eat Bulaga taking 20.6% in audience share vs It's Showtime's 18.2%.
It was different on Twitter, however. AlDub mentions soared to more than a million every day compared to barely 200,000 to 300,000 tweets for It's Showtime.
Will AlDub dominate all the way or can Pastillas Girl find her way to love and on top of the TV ratings? Let's see.
