In a sea of talented vocalists in the Philippines, it would be quite a challenge to break through. No pressure for Maricris Garcia though. She is taking it one step at a time.
In 2007, Maricris became the champion of the third season of Pinoy Pop Superstar. The win paved way for her appearance in GMA variety shows including SOP and Pinoy Pilipinas. It was the formation of the talented trio La Diva with Jonalyn Viray and Aicelle Santos that gave Maricris her dose of stardom.
She sang two soap opera themesongs so far, "Nang Dahil Saýo" for "Mga Mata ni Angelita" and "Kung Sana Bukas" for "Babangon Ako At Dudurugin Kita". Her latest project is different. She was not just chosen to sing the themesong of Mari Mar entitled "Mahal Kita". She is also part of the show as Mari Mar's bestfriend Natalia Montenegro.
In a sit down interview, we talked about her new second single "Ako Na Lang Ang Bibitaw", how she appreciated her step-by-step showbiz journey and the adjustments on her new found acting career. Watch our interview below.
