Maria Isabel Lopez Scene-stealing Moments at Cannes

There are many ways an artist can catch the attention of the international press at the world's biggest film festival. It's either you are in a very good movie, had the performance of a lifetime in that film, or win an award. But Maria Isabel Lopez has her own way and it's a very beauty queen way at that. 

Crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 1982, it is but expected for Maria Isabel Lopez to dress to impress. And she did just that, helping make heads turn for her and the rest of the cast of Brillante Mendoza's competition film Ma'Rosa. Along with her on the red carpet are Jacklyn Jose, Jose's daughter Andi Eigenmann, Jomari Angeles, and director Brillante Mendoza himself.

We are still to find out who Maria Isabel Lopez wore to the red carpet, but here are some pictures of her scene-stealing moments from the Cannes Film Festival. 

Also, we just heard, the movie received a standing ovation after the gala screening held late night on Wednesday, early Thursday morning in the Philippines. Don't you think Miss Lopez deserves some applause too?
