Still on the quest to win the Asia's Next Top Model after a series of almosts in the past cycles, Team Philippines seems to be having a hard time making it happen in the 5th season of the international reality show.
First, PH bet Anjelica Santillan bowed out of the competition right on the first episode of the new cycle and another PH bet, Jennica Sanchez struggled and landed at the bottom two in the second episode. Can a Filipina really make on top?

Jennica Sanchez, also of the Philippines placed comfortably at 9th in the first episode but struggled in the second episode and landed at the bottom 2.
Maureen Wroblewitz seemed to be the best Pinay hope as of the moment after placing 3rd in episode 1 and 5th in episode 2.
In a shocking departure that left her in tears, Anjelica finished last in the scoring system that combined both their challenge and photoshoot scores. The panel, which included Filipina Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, gave the photoshoot grades. Anjelica scored 29.8, to lose by a hairline over 13th placer Nametha Rajinkanth of Singapore who got 30.6 points.
The other two Filipinas, placed comfortably. Maureen Wroblewitz placed third with 38.7 points and Jennica Sanchez fiished 9th with a score of 34.9. Indonesia's Clara Tan topped the first competition after scoring 44.7.

Jennica Sanchez had a stunning photo but almost got eliminated in episode 2
Team Philippines was in trouble again in the second episode when Jennica slipped to bottom 2 with Thai bet Heidi Grods. The photoshoot for global toothpaste brand proved to be too challenging for Jennica. In the end, she was saved by points, 28.5 versus Heidi's 24.5. Maureen ranked 5th with 35.3 points. Thailand's Dorothy Petzold topped the second photoshoot with 44 points.
