After someone’s remains are cremated and green bones appear, it is a cultural belief that the deceased was a good person, and that he died with no evil intention in his heart. This is the anchor of the story in GMA Pictures’ entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival starring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid.
Watch the cast explain ‘Green Bones’.
Dennis Trillo plays Domingo Zamora, who is trying to change the course of his life after being convicted for the murder of his sister. Ruru Madrid, meanwhile, plays the a prison guard, in his first movie lead role.
Ruru for his part is ecstatic for his first MMFF lead role. His first MMFF was as a support cast for ‘Meant To Beh’. After two big-scale TV series in ‘Black Rider’ and ‘Lolong 2’, Ruru is content to end the year with a quality film.
This is director Zig Dulay’s back to back collaboration with GMA Films after winning First Best Picture last year via ‘Firefly’. For Zig, being in a company of quality films for the annual MMFF is already a feat in itself. ‘Green Bones’ is a story on being given an opportunity to redeem one’s self after a serious life mistake.
‘Green Bones’ is one of the entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024. It will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting December 25.
