There is no questioning the vocal prowess of this lineup of vocalists: The Clash Season 3 Grand Champion Jessica Villarubin, The Clash Season 4 Grand Champion Mariane Osabel, The Clash Season 2 First Runner-up Thea Astley, The Clash Season 6 Runner-up Chloe Redondo, and Bet ng Bayan “Bet Sa Kantahan” winner Hannah Precillas.
The exhibition of vocals is already guaranteed and these singers are thankful to be given the concert stages to showcase their talents. First, Hannah and Mariane will be featured in “Versus” on October 10 while Thea, Chloe and Jessica will headline the “Born For This” tour which is ongoing in different cities in the country.
Despite the emerging new sound top-billing in the OPM these days, the divas are staying true to their own musical influences. From local divas Regine Velasquez and Lani Misalucha, to karaoke favorites Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, the Kapuso divas will continue to serenade the Filipino in their signature big vocals.
Although, when tasked to collaborate and interpret hits by today’s biggest OPM acts, the “kontesiras” will most likely create a version of their own.
