How hard is it to produce your own music album in the age of streaming and social media? This was our question to 19-year old Isha Ponti, who is set to release her self-produced 10-track album this month.
For Isha, it is literally a passion project. She wrote her own songs in the album, recorded it, produced, and even directed her own photoshoots for the album's packaging. "Totoong self project!", she shared during her own media conference.
LIKAS, an acronym for Longing, Illusion, Kindness, Acceptance and Self-Love, series of songs that also aims to show who she really is. As is "likas", Filipino for "innate" or "natural" as she wants to show her real self in the album.
The album also reflected her personal experiences, from her romantic relationships to experiencing different life scenarios with family and friends.

Isha is recognizing the current peak that OPM is undergoing with the rise of P-pop and the domination of new OPM hits on streaming platforms and on trending social media sites like TikTok. The young artist is aware that she has to maximize these platforms to also find her own audience.
As to when she can say that she her album is a success, Isha has a simple goal: to get engagements and comments from online users which is already an indication that her music is being listened to and that she has already touched lives.
