On her interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on Thursday, actress and Senatorial aspirant Alma Moreno revealed that she actually prepared for her guesting on Karen Davila's cable talk show "Headstart".

This was the first time Moreno opened up about her experience on the show after it met massive disapproval from netizens. "I wanna go back to the interview. Pinaghandaan mo ba 'yun? Meron bang mga talking points?" Abunda asked. Alma, Vanessa Moreno Lacsamana in real life, shared that she studied but the things she prepared for were not discussed. "Meron Kuya Boy. May mga bagay... meron akong sinabi nila dapat, "heto", pero hindi... I mean Kuya Boy pinagaralan ko. Pero yung mga pinagaralan, hindi yun (ang napagusapan)."

The once President of the Philippine Councilors League admitted that it was her first time to be in a political talk show. "First time kong mag guest sa isang ganun. Sanay ako Kuya Boy sa showbiz," Moreno said. "Kaya sabi ko sandali lang, sandali lang," relating how she begged for more time when asked with challenging political questions one after the other.

She got emotional in one part of her interview with Abunda, admitting that she doesn't have the eloquence in speaking English. "Ingles, oo inaamin ko, hindi ako ganun kagaling. Noon pa naman yun eh, ang publiko di ako nag sinunggaling pero wag naman nila ako apakan ng sobra. Isipin naman naman nila mga anak ko. Ako, OK eh... Mga anak ko lang.

Alma, however, emphasized that she never got too sensitive with Davila. "Nasaktan ako... Pero kita mo Kuya Boy, di pa rin ako na(galit)."

But did the interview help her? Moreno said that it actually boosted voters' awareness about her candidacy. She said that her heavily sensationalized appearance on the ANC show improved her survey to 18th place after trailing at the 26th- 30th position during her first months since the announcement of her candidacy.

On her current Senatorial bid, Moreno is ranked 24th at the latest tally by PPCRV with 2.4 million votes, even ranking better than seasoned law-makers Greco Belgina (25th), Rafael Alunan (26th) and Walden Bello (36th). While in her hometown Paranaque City, Alma only placed 22nd with 32,569 votes.

The actress, meanwhile, did not answer directly if she would run for the Senate again in 2019. "Sa totoo lang Kuya Boy, wala akong ibang iniisip. Pero para sa akin, andyan pa rin ako sumusuporta sa anak ko at tutulong pa rin po ako sa abot ng aking makakaya." Alma's son Vandolf Quizon won a seat as a City Councilor in Paranaque's First District together with another actor Jomari Yllana.

Lovely Ness as fondly called in the entertainment circle, Alma is looking forward to returning to television and the movies.
