If your reason for watching primetime news on ABS-CBN is to catch Atom Araullo report, you may have to think of another inspiration to stay updated. That's because Atom has reportedly resigned from his post as a news reporter in Kapamilya programs TV Patrol and Bandila and on ANC.
The 33 year-old personality, Alfonso Tomas Araullo off-screen, chose to vacate his reportorial duties due to conflict of interest, according to showbiz website Fashion Pulis.
"Recently, Araullo has been expressing strong opinion on issues, such as the controversy surrounding the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani and certain policies of the present administration. Thus, instead of being accused as a biased reporter and thereby affect the integrity of the News Department, Araullo opted to resign."

In a separate report by Noel Ferrer of Abante, meanwhile, Araullo will remain as host of the morning show Umagang Kay Ganda and his late night public affairs program Red Alert. Ferrer also shared that Araullo is no longer an employee of ABS-CBN but will continue as host of the mentioned two shows in his capacity as "talent".
Atom wanted his resignation to be low profile. Thus, no interviews have been conducted neither has he confirmed anything on social media. The TV personality, who is being considered by many as a news heartthrob and was first seen via the children's show 5 And Up, is set to publish two books.
