Idol sa Kusina Chef Boy Logro dreams of building a culinary university

At 61, is there still something that you want to achieve?

For Chef Boy Logro, host of the long running GMA News TV show "Idol sa Kusina", he is still about to fulfill his biggest dream yet -- to build the first culinary university in the Philippines.

Aside from owning Chef Boy Logro's Institute of Culinary and Kitchen Services or CLICKS in  Genera Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite; part-owning 7 Flavors, a buffet restaurant in San Juan, and owning a culinary school in Laac, Compostella Valley, a lot of great things are coming up for TV's most admired chefs.

During his charity birthday celebration at 7 Flavors with select beneficiaries of ChildFund Organization, Chef Boy is overflowing with gratitude. His main goal at this stage of his personal life and showbiz career is to give back and share his blessings to others. In fact, his soon-to-be completed restaurant and hotel in Mindanao aims to provide more employment opportunities for people in the province and provide an avenue for scholars.

For his 6-year old show "Idol Sa Kusina", meanwhile, Chef Boy is all praised to his partner Bettina Carlos. "Si Bettina naman napakabait. Parang anak ko 'rin, magaling siya at mabilis ang pick-up. Natuwa ako at may katimbang nako." But if ever Chef is given the chance to add another host, he would like a beauty queen. "Puwede ba Miss Universe?", the celebrity chef quipped. "Para mag iiba naman yung takbo. Parang ganito ka (maganda), kasi ganito kinakain mo. Para din the beauty and the beast."

Chef Boy assures the audience of his show that he is still the one who creates the recipes for his show. He gets help from his sous chefs, but all of the suggestions are for his approval.

It seems like we will be seeing more of Chef Boy Logro. For more life pegs and inspirations, watch our 18-minute interview here.
