World’s top 3 country in consuming coffee revitalizes industry with a coffee expo

Do you know that the Philippines is among the world’s top 5 coffee consumers?

According to the World Population Review, the Philippines consumed 552,000 tonnes of coffee in 2022, third most in the world and only behind the United States and Germany. Filipinos even drank more coffee than the Brazilians and its neighbors who are known for their coffee, the Vietnamese.

The actual total consumption translates to more than 4 kilos of coffee consumed per person. It is safe to assume also that a single Pinoy drank one third of a kilogram every month in 2022. In rough estimates, that is 20 tablespoons of coffee for a single Filipino in one month.

The Philippine Coffee Expo 2025 capitalizes on the Filipino’s love for coffee with its return on May 9 to 11 in One Ayala in Makati. Their main goal? According to the Philippine Coffee Guild, is to create an avenue for conversation on helping coffee farmers, connecting the coffee producers, the government and the consuming public, and leveling up the quality of coffee produce in the countries among many other concerns.

The gathering will serve as the culminating program for the Philippine Quality Competition wherein the winning farmers shall be recognized and awarded.

The PCQC is an annual event designed to identify and promote the best quality coffees in the country to domestic and international markets, benefit producers, market actors, and consumers.

Aside from the PCQC, the highlights of the Philippine Coffee Expo  are Kape’t Kwentuhan Sessions, Meeting with Local and International Speakers, coffee exhibition, business matching, product demos, roaster and producers forum, pop-up cafes, international specialty  coffee guest exhibitors and barista and roasting competitions.

Participants can visit One Ayala on May 9 to 11 to join the Philippine Coffee Expo 2025.
