It’s a record-breaking production grant of 5 million pesos for each of the 7 official entries of the Puregold Cinepanalo 2026. It is a significant increase from the 3 million pesos-grant for each film shortlisted a year prior.
The increase in production grant is aimed at allowing filmmakers to make more quality films and for the entire festival to affect more audiences as possible.

The 7 shortlisted films are Joseph Abello’s “Wantawsan”, BC Amparado’s “Mono No Aware”, Thor Nazareno’s “Apol of my AI”, and Carl Joseph Papa and Ian Pangilinan’s “Patay Gutom (Dead Hungry)”.
Also shortlisted are Lawrence Fajardo’s “Beast”, Mikko Baldoza’s “Stuck On You” and Rodina Singh’s “Multwoh (Patay Na Patay Sa’yo)”.
Now on its third year, the Puregold Cinepanalo has been an avenue for fearless filmmakers in crafting their visions to art.
The 2026 edition is scheduled in August 2026 and will be screened in Gateway Cinemas and Ayala Malls Cinemas.
