Coco Martin on ambitious projects: “Ayoko sa taong tamad at mahina ang loob.”

Household name Coco Martin has embarked on projects that are sometimes even too big for its own medium. Like complicated fight scenes in “Batang Quiapo” that have furthered how action is usually created for television, Coco takes pride in believing that difficult sequences are possible.

This is why he is not afraid to embark on two very huge movie productions in 2026 and in 2027. The first being the OTJ (On the Job) Prequel “Maghari” next year, and his first biopic in “May Pag-asa: The Battles of Andres Bonifacio” the year after. There films are envisioned to be large-scale productions which Coco and his partners in director Erik Matti and producer Dondon Monteverde of Reality Entertainment are committed to converting their cinematic dreams to reality.

In the press conference where the movies were announced, Coco is all upbeat about making his upcoming actions films epic in proportions. “Sa production, pinaka hate na hate ko ‘yung taong tamad at mahina ang loob,” he said. “Sayang ‘yung talento ng mga Pilipino. Ang gagaling natin. Kailangan lang nila ng good leader na mag po-push na gawin ang isang bagay,” he added.

Coco is all praises for the 2015 Jerrold Tarrog biopic Heneral Luna, from which he has drawn inspiration on portraying national hero Andres Bonifacio.

He has chosen the hero that he can give all of himself to.

The 41-year old action star is also promising a stellar lineup of cast. ‘Yung first time nila na: ‘Hindi namin ito nakikita sa TV,” he narrated.

On continuing his legacy in action, Coco has owe it to audience response.

Here is more of the words of wisdom from Coco Martin from the press conference.
