This year, online votes is so crucial since the organization has considered online voting in determining the outcome of the competition. People from all over the world can cast their scores for the finalists on an app real-time.
Previous editions of the pageant only used the online vote for a special award or to choose one more finalist but this year is different. Online voters will actually rate all the finalists from 1 to 10 on all 4 segments: swimsuits, evening gown, question and answer and the final look. The online vote will be averaged and the total score will be treated as a judge score.
It's a make or break scenario in the sense that voting countries can either make a candidate win by awarding her with high marks or strip her chances of getting the crown by giving her low scores.
Here's how to vote.
1. Go to www.missuniverse.com/play
2. Tick the box where it says you accept the terms and conditions.
3. Log in through your Facebook account.
4. Wait for the pageant to start. Your vote will only count if the contestant is on stage. The moment the candidate exits, your vote won't be counted.
