GMA Artist Center's phenomenal actor Alden Richards and breakout singer-actress Julie Anne San Jose lead the network's New Year Countdown, dubbed Lipad Kapuso 2017, at the SM Mall of Asia. Amidst the downpour during the almost 3 hour show, the huge crowd at the bay area stood until the end of the show to watch the spectacular fireworks.
With Alden and Julie Anne are some of the brightest stars of the Kapuso network, Ruru Madrid, Gabbi Garcia, Derrick Monasterio, Ken Chan, Andrea Torres, Jak Roberto, Aicelle Santos, Bianca Umali, Sanya Lopez, Jeric Gonzales, and new recruits for the upcoming show Meant To Be, Addi Raj and Ivan Dorschner. Also present to provide more entertainment are boy groups One Up and T.O.P.
