Kris Bernal considers her cover for men's magazine FHM a career highlight. However, she is receiving major backfire from bashers who are accusing her of being anorexic or being too weight conscious.
For the Kapuso star, who will soon lead the afternoon soap 'Impostora', you have to blame her body's genetic makeup. She also said she's doing her best to gain weight. "I only stand 5'1" and my weight is only 105 (pounds). But when you search it on the internet, yung height ko, tama lang dun sa weight na 105. It's 105 until 130. So, pasok pako dun. Hindi ako underweight, or hindi ako anorexic, or hindi bollemic," remarks Kris during her birthday celebration with fans and bloggers.
"Yun ang gusto kong sabihin lang din na nag e-effort talaga ako na mag gain weight. Gusto ko i-clear na I don't go to the gym to lose weight... May mga training din naman para maka build ng muscles."
"Sana lang din, maintindihan nila na hindi madali sa built ko, sa katawan ko na lumaki. Kasi kapag titignan mo, ang liit lang ng buto ko eh. Kahit lagyan mo yang ng konting laman... yung bewang ko kahit lagyan mo ng konting laman, ganito lang talaga yung bewang ko."
Hilarious remarks on what she considers as her "most bashed Instagram photo yet" encourage the 28 year-old Starstruck alumnus to eat buffet or eat more rice. "Nagbu-buffet ako. Lumalamon ako. Kakaloka diba? Pa'no niyo nasabi yun eh di niyo naman ako kasama lagi."
The FHM cover is the first for Kris who admits that the move is a sudden departure from her image in her hit primetime show "Little Nanay". The actress believes, however, that it's time for her to step up her game and show her sexy side especially now that leads the cast of a mature soap.
Impostora is loosely based on the 1994 film "Sa Isang Sulok Ng Mga Pangarap" that featured Alice Dixson, Tonton Gutierrez and Ariel Rivera. It is also considered of the 2007 GMA soap of the same title that starred Sunshine Dizon and Iza Calzado. For the 2017 version, Kris is paired with Rafael Rosell and Ryan Eigenmann. The afternoon soap will premiere on June 12.
