Miguel Tanfelix ponders on new career high with Voltes V: Legacy inclusion at the San Diego Comic-Con

Over lunch, on a rainy afternoon, Miguel Tanfelix was in his usual cheerful self, recalling his sweet moments with on-screen partner Ysabel Ortega while they were in San Diego. It was just him being graceful to the tease of entertainment bloggers. What was glaring at that moment, however, was on how proud he is for his latest huge achievement: being one of the only two actors to represent the entire cast of VOLTES V: LEGACY, the very first Philippine show to be invited for a panel at the prestigious SDCC or the San Diego Comic-Con.

He had to bring with them 3 luggage full of costumes, precious baggage with each suit costing around ₱250,000 to ₱300,000. Not only did he and Ysabel have to rely on each other in carrying the luggage, they have to help each other too in putting themselves in those costumes. Miguel relayed that when they're out to film, they had an ensemble of about 3 to 4 assistants in PH. But while attending the #SDCC, they have to be on their own. "Naiiyak na talaga ako sa CR kasi di ko maabot 'yung likod," Miguel revealed. But of course they managed, gracefully answering questions and mingling with the crowd for photos moments later.

The costume challenges were all worth it. The Starstruck Kids alumnus, who rose to stardom via the role of Lawiswis in the hit fantaserye 'Mulawin' and has gone to portray a huge dramatic role in his first soap lead starrer 'NiƱo', marvelled on how far he's gone in show business. By listening to questions from a full-packed venue at the SDCC, his thoughts were on letting his California appearance sink in. "It's big for me in a way that masyado silang invested sa show and sa'yo. They asked me how I am tackling my role, and my overall experience sa pag gawa ng show which is nakakatuwa."

The SDCC gathers around 140,000 multi-genre fans from all over the world. For Asians, the event usually attracts Japanese creators. PH has now finally chipped in by putting the Filipino touch on a Japanese original. In the local franchise, the love of family is highlighted.

"Masaya na ganun na ang kinalabasan ng Voltes V. Honored ako sobra to be sent there. This is history and I am part of it."
